Resources

Your school careers library holds a wide range of up to date resources, including:

  • books/leaflets about individual careers
  • prospectuses for all Scottish universities, and local colleges
  • interview skills
  • writing CVs
  • taking a gap year
  • work and studying abroad
  • student finances
  • reviews about universities

Some of these resources are for reference only and cannot be borrowed from the library. There are books on different occupations which are available for loan.

During your visit to the Careers Library we would also suggest that you look at a couple of very useful websites:

the Careers and Learning Zones have two useful quizzes called 'Careerometer' and 'Courseometer' which ask you a series of questions to help you focus on possible career/course choice. There is also advice on writing CVs, vacancy websites, career planning etc
