Medical Information

Accidents/Illness at School

In the event of a child having an accident or becoming ill at school we will attempt to contact the parents so that they can collect the child from school. However, if we cannot contact the parents, we will contact the Emergency Contact whose name and telephone number should be given to us by the parents.

Therefore, it is very important that parents inform the school of the name, address and telephone number of the Emergency Contact and advise the school immediately of any changes that occur.  This information can be updated using Parent Portal.

In the event of a serious medical emergency, we will contact 999 and also the parent/carers.

Medical Room

We have a medical room in school that is used to treat pupils who require First Aid.  Our SSSAs are First Aid trained; they are not nurses and cannot treat illnesses.  If your young person needs to take medication during the school day, there are protocols that we need to follow and relevant forms will need to be completed by the parent/carer before this can be done.  Please contact the school office or your young person's Guidance Teacher if you need to discuss this further.
